A Kauai Attorney put in my Fathers will that 50% of his entire state would go to a Nonprofit Community Foundation. My Father has NEVER donated any money to any charity ever in his lifetime. Nor was it in his prior will. No one knew of this "GIFT" to charity not his friends, kids, financial adviser, long time accountant, NO ONE. The problem is this attorney that drew up the will also serves on the same board as this Nonprofit Charity. Is this Not a conflict of interests? She also added in the will that if the first person listed could not serve as trustee that the Foundation would serve. I believe My father was a victim of undue Influence and this attorney is corrupt and involved in self dealing. She is also a State official. After My father had this attorney draw up his Trust/Will he very surprisingly died less than 6 months later. He was 75 Years old. Could this be financial elder abuse? Financial Exploitation. Obviously this is something the board of ethics should know about. We got the estate moved out of Kauai and are now awaiting the next step in this matter. Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe so, maybe not. You appear to be litigating the matter, are on the right track by engaging an attorney (presumably) and have moved the venue. Keep us posted.

A very similar situation occurred in my area several years ago.
This is a news account of that case:
