Obama pardons 17 felons, including NC woman | MyFOX8.com (http://myfox8.com/2013/03/02/obama-grants-pardons-to-17-felons-including-nc-woman/)

WASHINGTON (CNN) — President Barack Obama granted 17 pardons on Friday — mostly to people with minor offenses.

The crimes included altering a money order, drug violations, and distributing satellite cable decryption devices.

White House officials have not said why the President chose these people to pardon. No one on the list appears to be well known.

Those pardoned include:

— Robert Leroy Bebee of Rockville, Md. sentenced to two years’ probation for concealing a felony or concealing information about a felony.

— James Anthony Bordinaro of Gloucester, Mass. sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment, three years supervised release and a $55,000 fine for conspiracy to restrain, suppress and eliminate competition in violation of the Sherman Act and conspiracy to submit false statements.

— Kelli Elisabeth Collins of Harrison, Ark. sentenced to five years’ probation for aiding and abetting a wire fraud.

— Edwin Hardy Futch Jr. of Pembroke, Ga. sentenced to five years’ probation and $2,399.72 restitution for theft from an interstate shipment.

— Jimmy Ray Mattison of Anderson, S.C. sentenced to three years’ probation for conspiracy to transport and cause the transportation of altered securities in interstate commerce and transporting and causing the transportation of altered securities in interstate commerce.

— An Na Peng of Honolulu, sentenced to two years’ probation and $2,000 fine for conspiracy to defraud the Immigration and Naturalization Service.

— Michael John Petri of Montrose, S.D. sentenced to five years’ imprisonment and three years’ supervised release for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution of a controlled substance (cocaine).

— Karen Alicia Ragee of Decatur, Ill. sentenced to a year’s probation, including six months of home confinement, and a $2,500 fine for conspiracy to traffic counterfeit items.

— Jamari Salleh of Alexandria, Va. sentenced to four years’ probation, fined $5,000 and ordered to pay $5,900 in restitution for filing false claims upon and against the United States.

— Alfor Sharkey of Omaha, Neb. sentenced to three years’ probation with 100 hours of community service and ordered to pay $2,750 in restitution for the unauthorized acquisition of food stamps.

— Donald Barrie Simon Jr. of Chattanooga, Tenn. sentenced to two years in prison and three years of probation for aiding and abetting in the theft of an interstate shipment.

— Lynn Marie Stanek of Tualatin, Ore. sentenced to six months in jail and five years’ probation condition on not more than a year in residence at a community treatment center for unlawfully using a communication facility to distribute cocaine.

— Larry Wayne Thornton of Forsyth, Ga. sentenced to four years of probation for possession of an unregistered firearm and possession of a firearm without a serial number.

— Donna Kaye Wright of Friendship, Tenn. sentenced to 54 days in prison and three years’ probation, condition on performance of six hours of community service per week, for embezzlement and misapplication of bank funds.

He wasn't content to just turning loose 5,000 illegals loose that ALL committed various crimes.

Makes the temper tantrums 3 year old's throw look minor.

Well you know, if anyone in the Obama administration would ever face the music for their shenanigans he might have someone to pardon worth talking about. By the way, Scooter Libby can vote again (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/28/bob-mcdonnell-scooter-libby_n_2786526.html)...

Didn't know which Bush you meant but the hollering I remember was from Iran-Contra. You know selling drugs to buy weapons for Iran in exchange for the hostages being freed?

Its about time... since he's gotten the short end of the stick for not having done anything except misspeak... since no actual crime was ever found to have been committed.

Gee... why don't you bring up Watergate too... where nobody actually got even so much as a paper cut... while you defend the actions of Obamas administration for the disater that IS known as BenghaziGate... where four Americans died including our Ambassador.

You are familiar with the Term Witch hunt? THat was Iran-Contra.

Its been proven Obama and Hillary both have blood on their hands with Benghazigate.

I defended nothing just posted the facts. As much as we holler and throw rocks, our guy is no worse than yours. Its just our turn to be YOUR targets, at least among the hollering rock throwing crowd.

I mean Reagan ran like hell when 300 marines where killed in Lebanon. Yet you worship his funky draws.

Like I said, no big deal to me. Releasing the illegals wasn't cool - or shielding your AG when he should be answering questions.

I was old enough to remember that period... Regan didn't go around sucking up to every despot ina robe bending over so far a picture from the wrong angle would make it look like he was performing an obscene act.

So the Egyption president is now not part of the Muslim Brotherhood... despite his own assertions he is... and the ABUNDENT records to that effect?

I suppose Arrafat was never part of Hammas either.

Just because Obama wants to rewrite history?

I'm not terribly concerned about these pardons. You want to have genuine outrage ? Wait 4 years when he leaves office. The most infamous to me are still Bubba's gifts to America . The most notorious to me weren't Marc Rich or the Puerto Rican terrorists. It was the Hassidic Rabbi's that he pardoned on a blatant quid pro quo to swing their district into an Evita win. Two Hasidic communities near New Square NY went for Lazio 3,500 to 150. However, New Square voted for Hillary 1,359 to 10.

Kalmen Stern, David Goldstein, Benjamin Berger and Jacob Elbaum, residents of the Chasidic village of New Square, had been convicted in 1999 on charges of swindling the government of $40 million in student grants, small-business loans and housing subsidies. They were sentenced to prison terms ranging from 30 months to 78 months.

Berger's sentence was reduced by Clinton from 30 months to 24 months, while Stern, Goldstein and Elbaum received reductions to 30 months.

The four men are followers of Rabbi David Twersky, the Skverer rebbe, who participated in an enthusiastic town reception last Aug. 7 for Hillary Clinton in her U.S. Senate campaign against Republican Rick Lazio. Mrs. Clinton subsequently received the votes of 1,359 New Square residents, compared to only 10 for Lazio. This contrasted with the votes in the Nov. 7 election of Chasidim in the nearby villages of Kiryas Joel and Kaser, which together favored Lazio over Mrs. Clinton by a margin of 3,480-152.

I just read a story about a guy that I think deserves a pardon. Ryan Holle of Florida is serving life with no parole for loaning his car to a friend in 2003. His friend and three other men drove to a drug dealer's home and the dealer's 18-year old daughter was murdered in the attempted robbery. Holle was a mile and a half away at the time and had no knowledge that they were going to commit a crime. He had no prior trouble with the law and had loaned his car to the friend several times before with no problems. What is the point of ruining this poor guy's life? I'm never loaning my car to anyone after hearing that.

No pardons for the Saudis, they apparently overcame their shortage of swordsmen (http://www.timesofisrael.com/saudis-may-ax-public-beheadings/)and beheaded 7 today (http://www.timesofisrael.com/saudis-may-ax-public-beheadings/), sparing the men the firing squad. .
