Hi so I've been on birth control for a month. I started it two days after my period ended. I've used it consistently and on time. I recently had sex with my boyfriend on Saturday and also on Tuesday. On both occasions I didn't use a condom. And it's the week my period is supposed to start. I'm due to start it today. But lately after I had sex I've been getting clear stretchy discharge. I'm reallyscared. Couldmy birth control delay my period? I'm not late yet. But I'm really paranoid.
I also haven't had any period symptoms like I usually do which include tender breasts and cramping. Just the discharge.

Sounds to me like you are either pregnant, your boyfriend has given you an STD, or both. You should ask him if he's been sleeping with someone else on the way to the store to get a good pregnancy test.

Please take a moment and IGNORE what lolwutz said.

Oral contraceptives work by convincing your body that you're pregnant and because your body THINKS it is pregnant than it will prevent an egg from being released. They also control your cycle so that it becomes VERY regular, but it will happen on the cycle that is determined by the pills. Some varieties will be three month pill sets, you skip the placebo week and you have a period every three months, and other one month sets. You get your period but are infertile for the time between.

A lot of oral contraceptives require you to start on the first day of your period and not after it is done. So if you started two days AFTER your period that could explain why it is late. The other problem is that for the first month after starting oral contraceptives it is still recommended that you use condoms because your body could be getting used to the new cycle.

As well a warning, there are a number of people that frequent this site that have gotten pregnant on the PILL and using a Condom. So doubling up is a good practice just in case.

I don't believe you've gotten a STD. I believe that the discharge is a by product of the pill but me saying that will not calm your mind. I would visit your doctor to talk to him about this. There is a slight chance you could have become pregnant. Give it another week and you should get your period. In the mean time a visit to a doctor would help greatly.
