I have a large painting I am trying to sell (its 30" x 40"), and although I can't exactly read the signature it does say "96" next to the signature which leads me to believe it was painted in 1996. It is of a woman with a shawl on looking away with a bridge in the background. It is painted with blues, greens, and reds and isn't a realistic portrait. The signature looks kind of like M Hartey. I was told it is a well known artist and a valuable painting
