in binomial experiments, I keep coming up with answers like 1.7346x^10-4
and the answer should be a decimal... how do I change this into a decimal, thanks!

You simply need to write out the decimal with the appropriate number of leading zeros. 10^(-4) means you move the decimal point 4 positions to the left:
1.7346 x 10^(-4) = 0.00017346
.
