My Honda Accord will not longer go into gear. Whichever gear I shift into, forward or reverse the care it will not move. In order to start it I do have to depress the clutch. No grinding or any noise from the transmission. I am trying to figure out whether it is the clutch or transmission. I have the official Honda repair manual but it does not have any troubleshooting guide for transmissions issues.

So if you push down on the clutch, can you shift through the gears?

I'm thinking your clutch is done. Have you checked the linkages just in case?

Yes I can put the gear shift into any gear. Checked the linkage, that looks fine

Sounds like the clutch is bad.

How many miles are on the car? It's likely the clutch, since Honda's manual transmissions are pretty much "bullet proof." I would get an engine support, drop the transmission, and check things out.

Working to get to the clutch. We've removed the 12 bolts holding the clutch cover in place, but it will not separate from the transmission.Tried prying and hammering. Any idea how to remove it?

Simply remove the 3 bolts attaching the starter motor. Don't use a pry bar or hammer.
