I took a 5 panel drug test +etg. They only took nail clippings. I'm concerned about the alcohol use showing in my nail samples. I drank like 5 times in the past 6 months only like 2 beers each time and one time actually got drunk. Will this show in my nail clippings?

How long does it take to get results back, and are they time specific on the alcohol use? I've only read that chronic alcohol use will show. Is this true?

I'm reading that fingernail clippings test positive for 90 days - Nail and hair samples show alcohol exposure over last 90 days | Articles | USDTL (http://www.usdtl.com/articles/Nail-and-hair-samples-show-alcohol-exposure-over-last-90-days/654.html).

Much depends on which type of test was run.

Whether you got drunk does not matter. The tests do not show your level of intoxication, only that you drank alcohol.

No, it's not true that only "chronic" use causes a positive.

The length of time it takes to get results depends on the lab.

I have asked that your threads on the same subject be combined.

Thank you. So I should show positive for alcohol use even though I have not had a beer in over a month?

Nail clippings test positive for 90 days. If you drank within 90 days, yes, you "should" test positive. Again, it depends on the type of test. I have no way of knowing - nor do you, probably - which test protocol was used.

Thank you again. And the only thing we were told was 5panel drug + EtG. And they only took the nail clippings weighed them and sent them out. I'm scared because I wasn't supposed to drink. And this was a surprise test. I've never been in trouble for drinking but it's a probation rule and I have a beer or two only on holidays or special occasions. I know now to just follow my rules,no matter if I'm old enough to enjoy a beer with a meal. So I learned but am sure my probation will be revoked, and I will be sent to prison. I appreciate your answers and time you took to respond.
