Hi my girlfriend and I have been having sex for about 3 weeks now. She's 28 and has had 4 kids, youngest is 6 and oldest is 13. She has a shallow vagina but is not tight (she also had an episiotomy during one of her pregnancies.) She also has a non-hormonal iud... Since we've become sexually active she's been experiencing some pain. This pain started in her cervix. We both enjoy rough sex, and I'm somewhat large. We've tried different positions to avoid too much contact with the cervix area, but sometimes she likes a little pain there... Anyway she's been experiencing additional pain in what she believes to be her left ovary, and has been bleeding as well. She's not due for her period for another week and the bleeding has increased over the past couple weeks. She had initially been spotting, but now she needs a tampon as it's become much more consistent. She just informed me now that she has been passing blood clots post sex this morning. She is at work now and has an appointment with her doctor tomorrow. Do you think that the iud has moved and possible caused some sort of tear or rupture somewhere? I know that after having kids the cervix is more difficult to open, so I'm not sure how possible it would be for the iud to move. I know usually it's kidney stones, uti, or something more serious, but given the situation, I thought it was possible something had happened with the iud. Please offer any help, I'm very concerned for her.

Thanks

Any speculation about causes of pain would be just that - guessing. Since she's seeing her doctor tomorrow, just try not to worry too much for the rest of today and tonight.

All right... I'll report back to this thread after she's consulted her doctor tomorrow for future reference for the forum.
