Flush mount dome style ceiling light.
Can't get the nut to come loose and I'm afraid the dome is going to break.
Any ideas?

Can you post a picture of light and we will be able to help you.

Turning the nut counter clockwise will loosen it. You may have to use a pliers on it. Be sure to hold dome/globe with free hand.
