Okay so about a month or two ago I noticed a bump on the shaft of my penis, about the size of a pimple. Its near the base, I do shave so I thought it might be an ingrown hair. Well I looked up how to treat them and they say you should be able to see the hair under the skin and you dig it out with a needle. Well I don't see a hair. I tried popping it like a pimple and it just got more red and a little blood came out. Im not worried about it being an STI or anything. I know its not, I think its an ingrown hair but I'm not sure because I can't see the hair beneath the skin. The skin there is pretty thin too so you think it would be easy. Any advise on how to get rid of it? I saw somewhere else that it could be sebum trapped beneath the skin and just to squeeze really firm to pop it. But if that's not the case I don't want to make it look worse than it does. I just don't want to freak some girl out. Haha you know?

You should never try to 'pop' anything in that area; or use a needle to 'dig' something out. Whoever gave you that dumb advice?

If you are not worried about it being an STD, fine, then just leave it alone, or your extreme attention to that area will create something you don't want, in the way of an infection.

Please don't force it open, or pop it, or whatever. It could "pop" inside, rather than outside.
Please call a doctor and get an appointment, if it doesn't clear up, say within a couple of weeks. Better to be sure that sorry later. I do wish you the best, and good luck.
