I had $220 worth or merchandise in my purse the police gaveme a ticket and I have to show up to court but I want to know what I can do to clear my record to get a job

Talk to your lawyer... but there is nothing you can do yet because you haven't been tried and found guilty yet. Depending on where you are and the mood of the court... they may or may not allow that to happen.

I have nothing on my record it was my first time ever beening arrested.I go to a community college and I plan on habing a career in the future. If I'm guilty of petty theft is their anyway to clear it from my record ?

As I said... a lot depends on where you are... being this is an international site... are you in Canada, the USA, the UK, Australia or some other place?

All of them handle things according to their own laws... and it may even vary within a country.

It might or might not matter but you will have an arrest record (perhaps not a conviction record) in the particular field where you are planning on habing a job.
