I'm 15 years old and I'm starting to lift weights. So I bought this protein supplement from EAS and it has Casein, Whey Protein, and Soy Protein and it's a powder that you mix with any drink. Anyway, it says don't take if you're under 18 but 2 of the pharmacists said that it's all right to take and that there aren't any negative effects. I don't think they saw the under 18 sign or anything, so I'm wondering what to do. I was thinking of just taking half a serving every 2 days after a workout instead of the 1-2 recommended everyday. Since I'm 15 I'm thinking this might reduce the risk.

Please help me answer this.

Thanks.

This supplement you speaking of is a lot of duplication, whey is a cowsmilk protein, is more soluble then casein. Soy protein, contains metabolic proteins, like enzymes, trypsin inhibitors, hemagglutinns and cysteine proteasers, and casein in powdered form includes whey, and milk protein. Casein takes time to work into cells, blood and muscles so its better to takebefore bedtime, but it's important for you to take the instructions strictly. Do over do!! Don't re adjust!! ;)

Please be careful- you are very young to start lifting weights, your bones have not stopped growing yet. You could cause serious long term damage.

As you are taking a supliment I can see you are taking this seriously but in the long run perhaps holding off even for a few years will increase your fitness and ability in later life. Also please avoid anabolic steroids they will stop your bones growing prematurely and cause to never reach your potential adult height (also loads of other side effects, you probably like breast but I'm sure you don't want any of your own)

Sorry don't want to be a nag but don't want you hurting yourself either ;)

The bone development thing is probably why it says over 18- it'll be a legal thing to show that they did not intend their product to be used for this purpose in under 18's
