My husband and I were very good neighbors to our single, female neighbor next door. Walked her dog every day for two weeks when she was ill, power washed her fence, fertilized her yard, gave her fruit trees, looked in on her cat while she was away, just to mention a few of the neighborly things we did for her. Last September my husband noticed a hole beginning on her side of her fence. There were two eight foot extension pieces added to our fence by her landlord almost two years ago. My husband even went to Lowe's and picked up a bag of lava rock that he gave to her to put in this hole. About four days later we received a call from her that our cat was being attacked by an armadillo in her yard. She came out of her house at 4:30 am and got in the middle of this fight with this wild animal. Four months later she is now suing me for I guess the scratches she received. My cat was in shock with a broken back, broken pelvis and punctured lung. Our cat has used a little door to come in and out the house for five years without incident. My homeowners tell me I have no coverage for my cat because she was not on my policy from 2007 when the policy was written even though my agent knew she was our pet. The agent says she has two cats and they are not insured as well. So, on the application, the insurance company is saying I rejected animal protection:( thank you
