My daughter lives with her mother and has lived with me a few times over the years but nothing's ever been court orderd except child support which ended when I became disabled... :my question is my daughter who lived with her mother wants to move out of state and live with her aunt which her mother had agreed to, my question is can I stop this seeing as I am her father ?

Can you stop it? Most likely not so long as it doesn't interfere with custody. Can you ask the courts for a custody change? Yes you are within your rights to do so. Have you spoken to your daughter about the move and what has she expressed to you as the benefit of moving?

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on another thread. This can lead to confusion. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

How old is your daughter? How far is the move?

Who is the primary custodial parent? The aunt cannot become custodian unless the mother relinquishes custody to her in a court. You will have the opportunity to to voice your feelings in court.

The court will need to be convinced the move is the your daughter's best interests.

If the mother does not go to court, the aunt will have no rightst to provide medical care or register the child for school.
