I’ve never used ‘RAID’ but I’m considering setting up my new computer to use RAID-1 because I recently lost all the data on my old computer.
I’m wondering if RAID-1 will “Mirror” Just Drive ‘C’ or will it Also “Mirror” my additional drives?
And If Drive ‘C’ Crashes… Will the computer Automatically boot from the duplicate drive?
And are there any disadvantages to using Raid-1?

First off if your building a system then you need to check if the drives you plan on using support raid. Some of the drives that are of large capacity do not. Also if your building a system you have many many choices as to how its going to come out. On a personal note I would rather have as a boot drive an SSD then a regular hard drive and use a hard drive as a backup. Your system can be much faster that way. And for complete system backup use an external drive so it can be away and disconnected form the system should anything go wrong.

I purchased TWO Intel 330 180GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s SSD drives, and a Seagate Barracuda ST3000DM001 3TB 7200RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s Hard Drive (for my data files). Is there an Advantage to using the SSD as the Backup? Or would I be better off to get another regular drive and use the SSD on my other Computer?

Never use SSD for backup unless it is short term. I would always back up to a hard drive either internal or external depending on how often you back up and how long you need to keep the data. If its really important things then I usually back up multiple times.
