2005 Dodge Grand Caravan worked perfectly. Serpentine belt failed. Now, door locks, lights, heat, ABS and traction lights on, Rear wiper won't work, Dash lights out, defroster switch for rear window won't work, etc. Repair place repaired(?) belt, then said radiator fan fuse kept shorting, they fixed that, then all these showed up immediately afterwards. They claim not connected.

Sure sounds to me like it's connected or the world's biggest coincidence. My impression is that they caused an electrical short (or something similar) while getting into the various positions to access the belt tensioners etc. Going to be hard to prove though. Odds are that they caused it and didn't realize it or did it and are trying to cover it up. Either way, I wouldn't go back there. One situation where the dealer may be the best hope, or maybe good time to trade in if possible. Good luck.

. Clear any codes with a code reader or scan tool.

. Test all under hood and under dash fuses with a test light or multimeter--be very thorough.

. Test the alternator, which most auto parts stores will do for free.

. Check ignition switch for wear, pitting, or melting.

When you replace the serpentine belt, it's best to also replace the tensioner pulley.
