My husband's Portuguese passport expires later this year please can you tell me if it's possible to renew it in the UK without physically having to go to the Portuguese consulate in London

I am sure if you call them, since you are in the UK at Tel: 020 7235 5331 - Fax:020 7235 0739, they can tell you how to renew on line

I believe he will have to go there in person to renew. But they will tell him for sure if he emails them, calls them or contacts them in other manners

Many thanks for reply. I can't seem to find an email address for them but will keep trying!The phone either just rings forever or is permanently engaged. Oh well, will keep persevering as have a couple of months to sort it out. Thanks again.

All passports are e-passports this day, so you need to go to the consulate for fingerprints, no renewal online.
