Hi guys,

I started a business selling Irish dance shoes and supplies over a year ago (main reason I haven't been as active on the site in a long while) and I got an email from a person wanting to know if I would send internationally. I responded within reason, tell me what you want, yada-yada and I'll send a paypal invoice.

The following is their order - says it is for their shop. Google maps has the address as a noodle shop. The odd amount of what they are ordering tells me it isn't for real, but I can't figure out why. It isn't like there is a hot market for jig shoes.

Would love your opinion. Here's the email.

I don't see a scam, and I am very experienced with scams on eBay, from selling and buying, as well as being a regular on the Answer Center help boards.
Credit cards can be stolen of course, and buyers can do chargebacks sometimes as long as 90 days after the transaction.
Shipments sent without tracking can be claimed as not received.
Paypal is safe enough, and buyers don't have much protection outside of eBay, although they have some, and they do have their card to fall back on for it's own protection.
But I don't see anything odd about the quantity, nor the letter as written, nor the noodle shop address.
Sydney is a big city, and there are probably markets for every kind of item.

If they pay your though paypal, and esp if you sell though eBay. It should be safe.

Normally the issue is when they send you more money than you ask for, and then want you to send a refund.

The other would be a stolen credit card

I knew it was a scam, just couldn't figure out what for. Not like the items they ask for have a high demand.

I replied telling them I will be glad to work up a quote when you tell me why you want it mailed to a Noodle shop.

Funny, got no reply...
