Hi, I have 5050 leds(rgb) in my aquarium hood. They are working fine. I was courious if I could make them a little brighter by increasing the voltage. I connected a spare laptop charger to them and they are considerably brighter.. Can I stress this was only connected briefly and not permanently.. I just wanted to get some advice on this..
The details for both power supplys are;
The 12v dc adopter that came with the strips is, Input 100-240v~1.5A 50/60Hz
Output 12v-6A
The IR controller that came with the strips is, Input/Output Voltage DC12v, Output Current 6A(max)
The laptop charger I tried is, Input 100-240v~1.7A 50/60Hz, Output 20v-3.25A.
The LED's are considerably brighter with the laptop charger.. I just wanted to know if it was safe to connected these up permantely.. I am NOT an electrician, I just need advice from one please... Thanks.. Ian
