I'm trying to replace the starter rope on my Craftsman Weedeater.
Can you tell me how to remove the clutch assembly from the shaft?

This item is probably made by Poulon so you may want to check their manuals too. Can't help further since my last replacement did not require clutch removal. Soory

Clamp and set screw removes it from shaft. If you are referring to crankshaft you would insert a piston stop in cylinder or in the absence of piston stop nylon rope can be used. Grab clutch by whatever means available, I use a couple small screw drivers verticle and put a lever between them. Turn clockwise to loosen.
