My husband and I just got married I am 20 years old and he is 21 he entered the united states with a visa and when he turned 18 he left back to Mexico because his visa expired. I want to know if I am able to make him a resident since I'm only 20 and I've heard rumors that I might need to be 21 in order to start the process can anyone please help!

All you can do is apply... there are quotas so expect to wait a long time... at least his status never became illegal because then he would be prohibited for 10 years.

Just because he is your husband doesn't grant him any special rights and it still might be rejected. Why people think it does is beyond understanding.

Expect it to take years and expect it to be very expensive.

Just getting married does not make him a citizen, he still has to apply for visa and as noted, there are quotas and processes for this, It will help to have an immigration attorney.

He may be rejected if there is any reason to reject him. Are you now living with him in Mexico ?

As a petitioner, you must be 21 years old.
