I've been raising my 2 stepdaughters ages 6 & 9 for about 3 years. Bio mother hasn't been around n 6 years. No contact or support in that time. What can be done for adoption and what can we do if she does try to stop it. We've done everything and given every chance to allow her to see them but she gives excuses and that's as far as it goes. The girls want this and so do I.

Where? It matters. In MOST cases the consent of the biological parent(s) is needed.

I note that you've been through the process before - https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/family-law/arrearage-payment-help-719264.html

I have to agree with JKT. In reviewing your posts on this site, you have very similar questions.

Some of your threads contradict other threads.

To be fair to you, it would be best if you lay out the entire scenario rather than expect us to piece it together.

Different situation . Actually in referance to reply w the older post above they found out the kid was not in fact my husbands so that matter was resolved thank god. We are hoping to start the process for me to adopt his 2 daughters asap.

Considering that there is currently some kind of investigation, you should put this on the back burner until you get all legal problems sorted out.

Again I say. Investigation part is done. Now it's a matter of a GAL who clearly doesn't like us...

Their father has temp custody due to investigstion.

I thought the investigation was done? If so, why does he still have temporary custody?

In order to get a clear picture of the situation, including the GAL who "doesn't like" the OP and the involvement of tribal law I think some threads need to be combined.

It is impossible to answer this question based only on this post.

Yes, all of the GAL and that investigation can be considered at the adoption hearing for other children. Just the fact there is an investigation will most likely be enough to delay or cause until some time has passed, months maybe even a year.
I agree, this adopt needs just to wait till everything else is cleared
