I recently had my annual done, and my primary care doctor emailed me that I tested positive for genial herpes. My test results read as follows:
HSV I/II IGG= 22.4
HSV 1 IGG= <0.91
HSV 2 IGG= 4.65
I'm concerned because I have been tested before and nothing showed but now I get this positive result. I'm even more shocked because I haven't had sex in almost 4 years, actually 3 years and 9 months to be exact!! I haven't experienced any symptoms of herpes. The only thing I can recall is 1 and a half years ago, my boyfriend and I became intimate enough that are genitalia rubbed against each other, but there was no penetration. Could this have caused it? Could I have had it before and it not show up? However, I was tested after that, and there was no positive result. I'm 30 years old, but have only had 5 partners in my life! I'm so confused!! Could something be wrong with the test. My doctor recently told me after a year long battle with ovarian cysts that I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, which she failed to tell me a year ago. A year later, she prescribed me birth control pills to decrease the cysts. I'm wondering if I should have the test done again, or go see a true gynecologist.
Please help!
