I recently purchased a Kenmore flat back electric dryer and have noticed a small glowing light on the bottom back of the drier. It glowed for a few seconds then turned off and I kept a watch to see if it would light again and it did about 15 minutes later. Should I be concerned?

I think you are seeing the glow bar ignitor. Next time when you see the glow, can you hear the gas valve open? I will assume this is a gas dryer .

No problem, but is this normal for an electric dryer, or should contact a repairman?

You should see a glow, but if this dryer is over a year old it should be cleaned. Most electric dryers have enough airflow to keep the element from glowing due to airflow. If it is dirty you have a serious fire hazard because the lint lines the inside and burns. Dryers are the number one cause of house fires with loose wiring right behind it (tighten all electrical connections in the breaker boxes and in outlets every five years).
