Hello,my name is john,my 95 heritage started this deep, ugly, throttle on,squeak, while cruising at highway speeds. I pulled over, every time I torqued up the engine you could here the internal engine noise, I shut it off and towed it home. I had hoped it to be a head gasket squeaking under a load, but after pulling the oil filter
I seen allot of silver colored debris, I was thinking to do a full rebuild this winter,my uncle said its possible that the cam bearings are the only problem, and that they were fairly easy to replace, compared to pulling the motor and replacing everything. He said the evo engine normally is trouble free to 100k. With metal in the oil,and 50,ooo miles on it,would it be wise to only do cam bearings,if that is in fact what I find wiped out ?
