My ex was given guardianship of our grandchildren and now wants to adopt them. I am not a bitter ex wife. I do have legitimate concerns about this situation. Although his FBI check came back clean, I know that he has child neglect/abuse reports in his past. He punched a stepson in the face, abandoned a daughter who was visiting him for the summer. She had to go to the hospital and it took social services 3 weeks to find him. He is always right and always has some fight going on with someone. He has multiple sclerosis and PTSD. Yet none of this came up in court. He has totally isolated the children from everyone. He is unstable and he will abuse these children. He also has a history of denying children in his care basic necessities such as clothing, dental care, shampoo etc. He gets money for the children because they are a sibling group but does nothing to help them in school or to develop talents and interests. I know that CA doesn't seem to care about past neglect as long as the kids are being placed with family. But this is just so wrong. Can anyone make social services provide accurate background information to a judge?
