Jay and Seth are twin brothers, and extremely close. Nine months. Ago Jay discovered his wife, Brenda, an alcoholic, had been cheating with several men during their 14 yr. marriage. Whenever out, she has acted very inappropriately around men and argues whenever her car keys are taken from her..

During Seth/Sandy's 3 yr marriage, Sandy had become close to Brenda and although aware of Brenda's "activities" kept it secret. Although divorced, Sandy wants to continue her friendship with Brenda, which Seth is totally against. Also with his approval, Sandy had a "girl's night out" with her, coming home drunk. He says that Brenda is a slut/whore and a bad influence and wants her to end further communication. Sandy cannot see the harm, but Seth says that Sandy should show her allegiance to his brother. Your advice.

This isn't really a matter of law. I'm confused why it's in the family law forum.

My opinion is that Sandy shouldn't have to ask her husbands permission to go out, nor should he dictate who she's friends with. But, this woman is his brother's ex wife, and she wasn't a great wife while married to his brother. Sandy being friends with Brenda could cause conflict for Seth and Jay.

I think it depends on who Sandy cares about more, her husband or Brenda.

Seth and Sandy will work things out and stay together, or let this rip them apart. Sandy is a jerk for flaunting this and I suspect her insensitivity will be her down fall. I seriously doubt Seth's protest will change anything, but he will get tired of it and do something about it.

Seth is the one to figure out what he does about this, but I bet his brother will have a role in it. Just don't see this working well for any of them. Or you. But its Seth's decision to make.
