Hi, I am looking for a Harlaquin romance novel, it was a "presents", written in the 1980's I think. I have lost it and would like to get another copy.
It was about a doctor/surgeon who lost his eyesight due to a jealous nurse, another nurse was blamed, he went to live on an island near Bali. His name was Paul Van der? he was Dutch and the heroine's name was Marlin Jane? she went by the middle name as she always thought of herself as "plain jane". She is fired by the hospital due to the blinding and then uses her first name to get a job as caregiver to the blinded surgeon. He ends up marrying her and finds out (wrongly) that she was the one who blinded him. He makes her life miserable, but they fall in love, then a crazed native attacks her with a machete and he steps in and gets hurt, by the end of the story he has lost his arm but gained the girl, who is now pregnant. The title has "island" in the cover I remember, but I don't know who the author is. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thank you
