I've been single for a few years now. I have dated several people over the years but nothing really serious ever developed. But now for the past few months I have been dating a woman that I frankly have fallen very much in love with. She and I get along so well and I really enjoy her company.

However, she has admitted to me that her previous marriage ended after she had an affair with her boss. She was married to her ex husband for 21 yearsand she said they had just gottenso unhappy that it finally became unbearable. Her boss was and still is married. He dumped her after she confessed to her ex and somehow managed to keep the affair from his wife.

Now, to my question. She still works for this man even though this affair supposedly ended over 2 years ago. And she has never looked for another job. She says they are still good friends, and she would have a really hard time finding another job with the pay and benefits she has. Should I be concerned about this? To give her credit, she told me about this very early in our relationship, since my ex wife also had an affair which ended our marriage.

Thoughts and advice would be appreciated.

That's a cute saying that I see thrown around a lot and, in most cases, it's true... but not always.


To the OP, it could go either way. The fact that she told you up front seems to say a bit about her. Maybe she was really just unhappy and such. Just be careful and see how things go.

I would give her the benefit of the doubt and get to know her better.
