A clicking noise comes from the white box that is in the back lower right corner of the back of the refrigerator. It does not do this when the fan is on

Tell us what type of refrigerator you have: Freezer on top, side by side, etc. and model of unit you have. It could be that the fan is hitting something. Why not remove the cover and take a look at it?

I have a side by side whirlpool gold. G565SHAXMS00 ser SP4032274. I took the back cover off & vac out the dust. The white box lower left has too many wires attached for a girl w no experience to open! :) I do not think it is the fan because when the fan is on & you open the door, the clicking noise does not happen. It is a rhythmic click that lasts up to several minutea after the door is opened . Tx for
R any help!

I also just noticed that it only does it when I open the refrig side and not the freezer side?

Opening an old thread, I'm having the same problem with the same Whirlpool side-by-side as jhodge. Unfortunately the drtom4444's dropbox link no longer works. Wondering if you could repost or give some more information. Thanks!
