We had a small leak in pipe from meter to house. A small piece of the cpvc pipe (blue pipe) was replaced with new pipe and 2 sharkbite connectors. After water was turned back on have very low water pressure and water was very dirty/muddy. After a few minutes the water has stopped in the house... but the water pressure to the outside facuet is normal... we think maybe the line is blocked or clogged (not sure what the problem is)... any ideas on what the problem is and how to solve...

After water was turned back on have very low water pressure and water was very dirty/muddy. Who did the work? The city or a plumber you hired?
What's happened here is that when they did the work they allowed dirt to get in your system.
Your aerators need to be removed and the screens cleaned and checked. If the taps are still not right the cartridges need to be pulled and the inlet ports cleared. When the valves are open turn the water on to purge the lines. This job involves your entire system and I would try to bring the installer back to clear your system. Good luck, Tom

Thanks for the reply... We actually replaced the pipe ourselves... and we do have water now. However now the pipes are "knocking" like a jackhammer or a machine gun whenever the water is tuened on. Im sure this has to do with the water pressure. Im not sure if the water pressure is too high or if it is too low.

Whenever the water is turned on anywhere (sink, tub, toilet, ete) the pipes start with the jackhammer sound... but if you turn the water on in another location the jackhammer sound stops. Therefore, I assume it has to do with the pressure, I just not sure if it is too much or not enough... and not sure if there is anything I can do to correct it or if Im going to have to call a plumber to fix the problem... I just know its driving me crazy!!
