The North Carolina GS for landlord tenant law says the waiting period is 10 days to pay or quit, however, our lease stipulates 5 days before legal action. Does the lease trump the statute or do we still have to wait 10 days before we file even though we served them with a 5 day pay or quit notice?

Since they agreed to the lease, the lease should trump the law.
