I got a job recently.. a few weeks in, I took a couple candy bars from stock without paying for them, co-worker finds them and reports it to manager, a week later I am told he 'wants to talk to me'. What shouldn't I say? Don't plead guilty? Will they likely press charges for such petty theft? I don't mind being fired but court is a different level

You either admit it and be honest, or you lie and say you did not do it.

That is your choice and one you have to live with.

They may press charges, they have that right

Well, I went into the talk with the manager with no idea what it would be about... and he just gave me some tips on inventory stocking and told me he wants me to complete some more computer training.

I suppose little was thought of the couple wrappers that were found without a receipt

Hello h:

I suppose little was thought of the couple wrappers that were found without a receiptYou don't know that. Thinking that way will cause you to DO it again... Look. If you want to STEAL, then STEAL. Don't screw around at it.
