I am planning on getting some sort of curling wand, flat iron, curling iron etc. but I don't know which type to get?
Are there any brands or types that are particularly good?

Also I already have GHDs if that makes any difference.

GHD flat irons are really good for curling hair!
But if you want a curling wond it all depends on the length on your hair.
If it is short I would go for a large wond: Toni&Guy Jumbo 38mm Tong, or the BaByliss 2337U Wave Envy Hair Styler is really good for styling your hair.
For medium and long hair I would use a thinner wond: Lee Stafford Chopstick Styler, Nicky Clarke Classic Slim Hair Curling Tong, or the Remington Pearl Wand Hair Curling Wand.
Either one will make your curl look great just remember to use heat protector.
