The top part of the furnace turns on but the bottom (Fan blower) does not come on. There is a power switch on the side ON/OFF switch and a safety button that depresses on the bottom when you place the fan cover on. This triggers the unit to come on. That said, the fan never comes on at all. I tried to find a reset buton at the top of the unit but there is not one.

How can I check to see if the fan is bad? The belt appears to be connected but the fan doesn't make any sound nor does it come on. There is a little tan unit on the middle level with an on/off switch. I turned both on/off switches off for a full minute after turning the power box off. Your help would be much appreciated if you know how to troubleshoot the fan and ideally know how to do simple fixes to it.

If you can turn the fan switch to on at the thermostat and it runs. I would say you have a bad fan limit control switch. The reason I say this is that if you are checking the BELT on the blower motor the heat side of the blower is controlled through a fan/limit control.
