Hi everyone,
I am a US resident having moved from the UK to the US in 2009. My account in the UK is still open and I would like to transfer the money in it to the US which is about 16,000 dollars. I have already paid taxes for this in the UK. Do I have to
1. declare this when I transfer it electronically to my account in the US?
2. pay tax on this?
3. have to do any additional paperwork as I have to transfer it to my friends account in the UK who will then transfer it to my account in the US? (I cannot transfer this directly to my account due to new restrictions in the UK)

Thank you for your help!

There are no transfer taxes, and ghe amount is so small that no report (Form 3520) is required.
