There's no such thing as temporary adoption. You either give your child up for adoption, or you don't.

No one can adopt a child not yet born. Period.

And while there is temporary GUARDIANSHIP, there is no such thing as a temporary adoption. If a family member is telling you that there is, DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING.

Why would they make this offer in the first place? What are the circumstances?

She 16? So you are asking not her?

You can help her take care of the child, maybe become temporary guardian, but adoption is permanent.

I don't understand this. You said the child was yours. Are you telling us that you want to give your baby up to a 16 year old that's a full time student?

A 16 year old cannot even become a legal guardian for your baby. She's not an adult. She can't enter into any sort of legal contract, and adoption, or guardianship, would be a legal contract. She cannot even temporarily look after your child.
