Firstly, I want to let you know I have dyed multiple times in the past couple years.

I'm am naturally a light brown/dark blonde.

More recently, about a year ago I dyed my hair red. A month or two later, I dyed my hair black. The black had recently faded and 3-4 months ago I redyed my hair black.

I highlighted my hair blonde, but it came it out horrible and only highlighted a little bit of clunks on the top of my head. It didn't dye the black dyed hair and only highlighted the hair that had grown out.

Now I want to redye my hair light brown (but not my natural hair color). The thing is, I have recently used "Color Oops" product and it didn't really do much. Then again, I have thick porous(from the dye) hair and aren't sure if I needed more. The store I go to no longer sells "Color Oops" so I opted for a new hair color remover. I got "Color FixIt" and that also seemed to do nothing. I then dyed my hair with Loreal stuff blondeish/brown. It dyed the roots blonde like 3 shades lighter, but it looks like the rest of my hair darkened (or maybe it looks that way because the roots are blonder).

I know this might be too much backstory but I feel that all the recent dying activity I have done might be problematic... especially at making my hair porous. Please help me! I love my hair and I don't want to bleach it, but I want to be light brown again! I don't want to hurt my hair with more harmful chemicals than I have to !
