In this image it shows how beautiful and classy Mme. Loisel was. I chose this picture because not only does it mirror what she used to look like before she lost the necklace, but this image shows her in her fancy clothes giving the impression that she was rich, like she always did. The image makes her look like she lives in luxury and owns all the finer things in life. When in reality, she didn’t; Mme. Loisel was poor, greedy, and unappreciative. She always wanted better even though her husband would try his very best to see a simple smile cross her face. She hated to have people even have the slightest idea of her being poor, so she spent her husbands money on anything they could afford, or in some cases, even the things they couldn’t afford. It was her dream to be just like her friend Mme. Forestier who lives in luxury and is living the life Mme. Loisel would kill for. So like any other selfish person, she was extremely jealous of her friend Mme. Forestier and refused to talk to her. Only speaking to her when she needed the jewelry for the ball that day, only to end up losing it and having to pay it off, which means she had to actually work and clean around the house.
