I have a carrier 58tma furnace and in the past year it has been displaying code 32.
Had it cleaned and inspected. Had the circuit board replaced also, which now I tend to think it didn't need to be replaced but tech said it did. After running last winter it displayed the code again and had to hit the reset button. Ran the rest of winter but after summer was through it kicked on and again displayed the code 32 and locked out. Had the tech back and he said the reset button had been tripped and says its due to a power surge and the sensitive electronics. He says this particular furnace is known for this. Can this be due to power surges? Even if the furnace hadn't been on for several months due to warm weather? Any ideas?
