Hi, I've got a Mountfield Emperor with a Briggs&Stratton 111787, 0162-01, 1985 model. It is stuck in 'driving' mode with the drive roller continually turning, i.e.. The clutch does not disengage. The cable is fine and moves the clutch lever going into the engine body fine - obviously, something has gone awry inside... Any hints on how to fix it? Can't see how to get to the innards without completely splitting the engine...

Any help or advice appreciated

Not familiar with the model, the drive shaft (pto) on a engine should spinn all the time, the clutch is the disengage method. No need to split engine but not able to tell you how to fix.
