I'm stalling a new tile floor and will be removing the existing sheet floor that runs under the present floor flange. The floor drain is a 4" pvc. Since a sub floor will be installed and since the sheet material is under the old flange, I thought I needed to remove the existing flange. In doing so I broke the existing flange; I believe I have to cut the remaining insert piece out of the drain? Or, can I use a small dia. Floor flange to fit inside the remaining glued portion of the old flange?

Thanks

Are we talking about a floor drain here, or a closet flange?

Do you have a inside or a outside existing 4"toilet flange? Tom

It's 4"inside dimension.

To answer the other question, I'm speaking of the floor drain for the toilet. I actually have 2 that I'm working on that will get new ceramic floors. I've removed the toilet from the 2nd bathroom, but have left the floor flange intack so far.

Not telling me what I want to know. The closet flange? Is it a inside or outside flange? Cheers, Tom
