My bathtub water gets muddy after the hot water runs out. Only in master bath no where else. What could the problem be?

My bathtub water gets muddy after the hot water runs out. Are you saying that when you run out of hot water and it turns cold that it then turns muddy? Just the hot side? By "muddy" do you mean reddish brown? Back to you, tom

Yes. I think it is just the hot side. It did happen in the guest bathtub too, just not as bad.

What type of water heater do you have? How long before it runs out of hot water? How often do you flush your heater? By "muddy" do you mean reddish brown? Back to you, tom

We just bought the house, have not flushed the water heater. It seems pretty brand new, not sure of the brand. The hot water runs out about 10 minutes max.

Sounds like you may have issues with the water heater. Gas or electric? Let's start by flushing the heater.

For long life and fewer troubles you should keep your heater clear of mineral build-up by FLUSHING NOT DRAINING on a regular schedule.

Attach a hose to the boiler drain at the bottom of the tank. With the pressure on, open the boiler drain and let it run until the water runs clear. You will see a spurt of red,(rust) followed by white or yellow grains,(lime or calcium carbonate). This shouldn't take more then a few minutes.

Do this monthly to keep it clear. Now flush out your hot water lines on ALL fixtures that are affected . Now pull each aerator and clean the screens. Be sure you put them back together the same way you took them out. Don't forget to flush it out every month. Your heater will thank you for it. Hope this helps and thank you for rating my answer,
