Title says it all.

I've done a comple gut on a 120 year old bathroom.
The cast iron closet flange is broken (and quite gnarly)
It connects into a "t" in the vent stack.

How do I remove the offending iron flange?
I believe it is sealed with the old school molten lead.

Huge thanks to any answers!!

Hey Fletch,

If you're asking how to remove a poured lead and oakum joint read on. To remove a poured lead and oakum joint take a 3/8" drill bit and drill a few holes down past the lead and into the oakum.. Push a screwdriver under the lead ring and lever it up. Once it's free you can began to peel the lead ring out. Now pick out the oakum and you can pull the joint apart. Or if the hub's cracked or broken simply whack the cast iron hub with a hammer and break the fitting out and replace it. Good luck, Tom
