My husband, my daughter & grandson just moved into the house I grew up in.
My daughter & I r expirencing some weird things around the house.
Mainly noises, banging upstairs & in the basement. Just in the past few days doors are opening on their own, my keurig coffee maker turned on & heated up by itself. & the kids are 2 & 3 they are being really bad an out of normal behavior. We do not hear voices. Just noises.
The house is over 200 years old & was used in war of 1812. Could it be haunted?

Your house may not be haunted. A house that old may have many issues that seem like paranormal activity but are quite easily explained by floor boards bending, electrical malfunctions and doors that probably need to be re-hung.

If I were you I would look at natural occurrences rather then paranormal.

It's not only that kind of stuff. Windows that r open are suddenly closed. Or door and drawers in kitchen are open or pulled out in the morning.
& explain why the kids stand and yell stop or go to no one or nothing.
It's all kind of weird. All the natural things have been looked at. Or nothing is wrong.

Hauntings do not necessarily mean evil entities, this is for horror stories. Normally some of us who are paranormally sensitive have put up with 'hauntings' for years, when I talk to the 'air' and start ignoring the 'happenings' all goes away quite nicely. However, flair ups may happen and then I say 'enough is enough' and they go away again. Its when a mischievous spirit knows it is bothering the household by how the occupants are reacting is when it accelerates its nuisance activities.

Generally hauntings can be dealt with in different ways; you can have a priest in to bless the house; you can read from the bible when you notice something odd happening, or beginning to happen. Mostly you will have a warning, in this case treat it casually.

'They' will go away once they realize that aren't bothering anyone with their activities.

I am sure other paranormal expert, hauntinghelper, will enter with his always
Excellent viewpoint on your happenings.

Actually, I was going to let this one pass me by... but seeing as it is Sunday and I don't have a lot going on right now, I guess I'll chime in!

Could your house be haunted? Yes, it could. You obviously sound uncomfortable in the home. Any time somebody is uncomfortable in their own home is when I believe some action should be taken.

Hauntings can be peculiar. Personally, I believe there is one way and one way only to deal with them... and that is confrontationally. However, as Tickle mentioned, many people that deal with hauntings sometimes will tell the spirits to leave, knock it off, settle down... however they want to put it... and it may typically work, either permanently or only for awhile. The way a haunting is dealt with really boils down to the people being haunted, because in the end it is your choice.

If you are of a religious nature, then I may suggest dealing with the situation head on with the help of a pastor or priest. Religion can not be forced upon any situation... and where it is forced, it is usually rendered void and powerless. Therefor, you can try to talk to the spirits as Tick suggested and see where you end up. I'd say if it ends up being an aggressive spirit, you may, whether you like it or not, end up calling on God for help. Time will tell. My biggest concern in any spiritual situation is the well being of the children... and above all else, keep them and their safety as a priority.
