I have a 1998 accord with 4 cyl engine. Last week while driving to work car hesitated and almost shut off. Going home same thing happened again. This is happening everyday. If I drive a mile away from home and shut off car and then try to start a few minutes later it takes about 10 attempts to start. Car runs rough for a few seconds and then everything is fine. Any suggestions?

I might suspect and test the Ignition Switch, you need to remove the plastic piece under the column to get access to the back side of the switch where you can test, or follow to a couple of plugs at the top of the fuse panel, look for these colors:

Constant 12V+ White
Starter Black/White
Ignition Black/Yellow
Ignition 2 White/Black
Accessory Yellow

If the ignition switch checks out okay, then focus next on the distributor. Normally, replacing the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil, located inside the distributor, solves the problem. Be sure to apply silicone heat transfer compound to the back of the new ICM. Should the problem persist, check/replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor.
