About 3 years ago, I was being charged for shoplifting that was worth $85. They caught me and called the police. I give them false information about me, my dob, address, name and everything. I moved out from that state before my court date. That's was my 1st time doing anything illegal and I made huge mistake and haven't done anything illegal since then. I am a good human being but made bad choice that day. I have been paying for that mistake almost every single day being so worried about getting caught and going to jail. I have a good job and my life is well settled. When my job did my background check they didn't find warrants issued in my name and I keep checking my credit history for public records so far nothing is showing but my worries just doesn't go away. My question is that if I get pulled over or go to dmv to renew my license, are they going to find out that I lied back 09 or do they have some sort of face recognizing software that gono match up my picture once my picture is recored/ scanned in their system?
Thank you so much for any help!

Did they do fingerprints on you when you were arrested with the crime ?
If they did finger prints, yes you will soon be caught
The face program is in us for National Security and for terrorist and is not being used for shop lifters at this time, May it in 20 years, my guess is yes.
Next the stress this is causing you is serious and hurting your health.
Why not ? Hire an attorney, have them work this out, you pay some fines ( maybe large) and get this behind you

This doesn't quite make sense. They didn't ask to see your driver's license or other ID? You gave them phony ID? If so, you must have been an extremely well-prepared criminal.

They asked me for my ID but during that time I didn't have my DL with me or any other type of ID, I was so nervous and I was just not thinking right so I wrote down wrong name and info. They didn't take any fingerprint but the cop took my picture from their car and they let me go with citation. I had to left that town same week. I was going to fly back to town to face the music but one of my friend suggested me not to go, I had court date on feb and I was graduating on May and I had my job ready. She suggested me I would never be able to get a job once it goes to my record and I probably wouldn't even be able to graduate because I'll be living in the jail. I have been working as a system engineer since mid of 2009 and now I am a semester away from completing my graduate school.Everyone around me are proud of me and my work but I just can't be proud of myself. I feel like I am a wanted criminal and soon I'll lose my job, family and I'll be thrown to jail. I MADE HUGE MISTAKE and that's killing inside me every now and then.
