Why does 911 ask you your address even though its not about you? My friend was going to do something to herself so I called 911 and they asked for my address too.

YOu can thank Cell phones and VOIP services for that necessity.

To avoid crank calls for one. Also, they can often tell, and ask so they can confirm that the call is real. So lets say someone found your phone and used it to make a phony call. If the operator asks and they tell them 123 Elm when you live at 321 Oak it can help tell the credibility of the caller.

All right thanks and yeah that makes sense. So they won't come to my house though right?

It depends. It is not likely nor is it likely they will tell the person who called. But it depends on the circumstances.

It is unlikely they will, but if they want more investigation, they may. If we call 911 we have to be willing to talk to them in person also, if needed.
