I am 20 year old student, and I have been recently caught shoplifting in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, CA. I have been filled with anxiety and remorse, and completely regret making such a stupid choice. My problem is that I have a stable, reliable retail job for the past three years and was wondering if they would be notified of this current change in my record? The officer that arrested me was not there when the act was committed but was called in. After taking me back to the station, and fingerprinting me he informed that they would not be informing my employer and suggested I tell no one from work of this incident. I have been looking for possible defense lawyers that will be able to take my case (at a student fee. I'm broke but willing to pay $500-$1,500). Anyway, although I was reassured by the officer that they would not say anything will the LP officers at the store where I was caught shoplifting be able to mention it to my employer? (The stores are close in proximity)
