There's this cool guy in my college that I really want to talk to. He's in one of my classes. I want to try to talk to him but I don't know how to? He always sits alone in class and he always sits in the last row at the back of the class.

If I walk to the back of the class, he'll either give me the death stare or he sends out this aura saying that he doesn't want to be bothered. He's always late and always the first to leave the class. I wanted to catch up with him when classes end but he walks out of the class really fast every time.

And I've never seen him talk to anyone before. He doesn't seem like the weirdo kind, but more of a loner. Every time someone/teacher tries to talk to him, he'll give the one word reply. I really want to try to talk to him, but it's like really difficult. What should I do? D:

His attitude somehow reminded me of my own last time. I used to be alone all the time with no friends. I know how it feels like not having any friends. So I thought maybe I could be friends with him or something.

You don't talk to someone who doesn't want to be talked to... you have to respect their personal space. Inagine the most obnoxious ugly and smelly person insisting on talking to you when you don't want it. (I'm not saying you are, that's just a hypothetical example).

If you've already tried a few times and got rebuffed... time to give up on it.

I question why you are drawn to someone who sounds sullen and hostile. Is this really someone you want to get involved with - a guy who will act this way at the family Thanksgiving table, to waitresses when you go to dinner, etc. If he were shy I'd have ideas, but since he's openly hostile to interaction with others, I think I'd steer clear of the guy until he grows up and changes his attitude.

Maybe he has a fear of crowds. Maybe he's suffering from unrequited love, or someone died. Maybe he's painfully shy and the death stare is protection. Maybe he's planning to shoot up the classroom. Who knows?

If you do have a chance to pass by him, say hi and keep walking. Do that 5, 10 times, and give up if/when you have the sense that he isn't going to reciprocate.
